Post-Stuffening (wow that sounds terrible), Kanda can be spotted putting on his normal clothes. There's another long coat on the ground next to him, and a sheathed sword resting on top of it as he ties his hair up in a ponytail. When that's done, he looks around and frowns a little, then looks at Gale.]
You. Did you see a flying black thing? [DOESN'T EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE YESTERDAY,,,]
[ he is also back in his regular degular clothes. it's fine, he'll let kanda get away with this because he actually does not want to start a fight or embitter a grudge, so. sure. they can start over. ]
I don't believe so ... ? Unless it was something specific. Tara is able to fly, it may have been her you spotted.
[ its really important for me for you to know that i was desperately searching for this post, i was typing in NINEILLUSIONS and getting so frustated i couldn't find it but it was because i was giving kanda three more illusions
thank you for coming to my ted talk
anyway, as he approaches he scratches at the side of his face briefly with a hand - just. gently trying to divert from where it says `a meaningless death` plastered along the side of his neck. it runs along the strange mark he's always had there: a circle that starts on his chest and has tendrils running on his neck and over his cheek. it seems more obvious now with the ink. ]
Gale is in luck because Kanda is the last person in this group who will ask personal questions, so he doesn't even spare the mark more than the barest passing glance, despite taking note of it. (He will remember this, though whether he ever mentions it remains to be seen.) Ironically, he also has a strange mark--it's visible through his clothes where it stretches across his chest, though his coat is buttoned up too high to tell if it matches anything on his skin. These are normal things that normal people deal with.
He makes a slight face, looking back at the plaque with his name on it.]
I don't know why my name is here. [There are so many other people in this house... one of them is Ichiban... that's a noise NIGHTMARE]
[ oh :) yay! matchies!!!! gale's mark is outlined in ink, and while the parts that are normally beneath clothes are still hidden, its pretty high up and runs all the way up his neck, over his cheek and to his eye. ]
Oh, I believe it is because you now live here. Congratulations upon home ownership ... ?
[ hello kanda. gale is near the bulletin board, reading it over and over, and then occasionally glancing at his glove - stained a little blue on the ends of the fingers. ]
[Gale really doesn't deserve to keep dealing with Kanda I'm sorry
But at least this time it's business talk so he's more likely to stay and engage. He's got his sword, as always; he glances over the two death posters, and then at the third new addition, checking for any changes before he looks back at Gale.]
No. But I heard they're dead. [He says it so matter-of-factly]
Anyway they're in a house for some reason. Something ridiculous is playing on the TV. Regardless of what's on, Kanda is making a "what the fuck" face, but if you don't choose a show I'm making it The Big Bang Theory.]
I said Kanda left but really he didn't go very far--he's just here standing guard a little ways away from the barrier holding Erin, his sword sheathed and in his hand like always. He's easy to find! I'm so sorry for a :man_standing: starter but here we are]
[he is asking because kanda seems like a very young guy and is talking about being on the front lines of some war and is now saying deeply concerning things about starting as a tiny baby
honestly I don't know that gale immediately knows how to react to horrible child experiments off the bat, but it does ... make him angry. that someone would do this to children in the first place. ]
... I know they feel like hollow words, but I am sorry.
[ gale can be found in the library, obviously, hunched over a huge book and taking frantic notes in a fresh clean journal beside it. he won't notice if anyone else walked in, completely engrossed in this. hyperfixation time. good luck!!!
just kidding I know kanda won't go for this. unfortunately gale might notice him and wave. ]
[I read "frantic" as "fanfic" and was like woah Gale watcha doin there
Kanda is still heavily injured so he probably shouldn't be wandering around, but he's bandaged up so whatever. He probably won't die in a PC. (Unless?)
[ he has been swamped! he is not against the swamp. well he has maybe a little against the swamp it is very gross and terrible, but sometimes healing just be like that.
he's somewhere where he can at least sit down, and tara is on his lap and looking very possessive and upset. her boy!!!!!!! he's healed over pretty well at least, the hand looks ... very stiff and scarred, but it's intact and the slice down his chest is a raw-looking but sealed wound. not all the way there quite yet.
unfortunately kanda, he is never not in a yap mood. ]
Horrible sensory experience. I do not recommend it.
[ gale is on the boardwalk most of the day, just strolling up and down it, clearly a bit lost in thought.
thoughts you can hear, apparently. `Now of course using it directly on a restoration to life would eliminate all possibility of accidentally perishing via misadventure in the very moments of return--` ]
[The boardwalk is so popular I can't wait for 90% of the game to curfew there
He's still bundled up in multiple layers and occasionally struggling for breath like he was yesterday, and this time he gets to have little animal crossing shiver lines sprouting around him, as a treat. Gale's thoughts are a distraction from feeling kinda shitty, though, and he frowns slightly.]
[Honestly I'm impressed they made it as long as they did
He's pretty easy to find, at least; he still frequents the stream in town to meditate, which is where Gale can track him down tonight, sitting on the ground with Mugen beside him. There's an aura of quiet around him as he actively focuses on keeping his thoughts clear, but it recedes as Gale approaches, and he opens his eyes to look at him.
His tone is chilly and clipped, but he doesn't get up and walk away, so that's. Something. He'll tolerate business; he's not quite so immature that he'd sabotage their chances of getting out of this place because of his own grievances.]

Week 1, Monday

no subject
anyway yes, he is also absorbed in whatever the fuck this is. bazinga. did you know i've never actually seen a single minute of big bang theory. ]
... Is this what scientists are like in your world?
no subject
Bazinga. This is what's happening. Kanda is so confused.]
No. [What in the hell is a "physics bowl"] ...Why are they laughing?

Not as much as last week. [When they didn't know anything] But barriers fall all the time.
[So it's not worth the risk, even if it's unlikely to be an issue.]
