Kanda's immediately back in his normal clothes, with a second long coat over the first one and a sheathed sword in his hand. His hair's tied up in a ponytail now, and he seems... not relaxed, actually, but more comfortable. The robes are definitely just thrown on the ground and he's going to leave them there, rudely.
Hilariously their conversation was the nicest one he had all day yesterday, so even though he isn't often the type to strike up conversations, he'll glance over and nod when he sees her.]
It's undamaged. [His sword, he means. Now they can get out of here as soon as the monsters show up! (No they can't)]
[Sometimes you just gotta double-coat... if he were a nice person he'd give her the second one but he's that "well damn Jackie I don't control the weather" meme]
Why'd they take them if they were just going to give it back... [Things will simultaneously make more and less sense once he realizes he's wrong about everything]
Everyone describes a completely different place. Not just geographically. Monsters existing or not existing, magic working different, or being from different times. Like that.
There are probably plenty of things about their own worlds that most people don't know. [ he's not wrong? most people are oblivious. ] But the idea that all of us have different blind spots to things someone else thinks are totally common knowledge would be too big of a coincidence.
And yeah. Some people here are from centuries before my time.
[Honestly it's a miracle it took this long for him to reveal he's bad at communicating. Funnily enough, he doesn't think she's lying so much as he thinks maybe something's wrong with her head, which is not actually any better of an assumption, but. C'est la vie. But he doesn't say that anyway, in favor of frowning thoughtfully as he thinks this over and tries to make sense of it.]
[He is from (mostly) Real Earth so this makes sense to him, but also means the time thing makes less sense. He notes that "probably," but he doesn't say anything about it.
Hmmm. He loops their conversation back, and asks again, less on edge this time:]
Who is the necromancer?
[He is (probably) capable of talking to them normally and finding out if it's relevantly worrisome or not.]
