Depending on what time Vin is up and about (if she slept), she can find Kanda out in the woods early in the morning, training with his sword! As one does, y'know. He won't invite her to spar, but he also won't chase her off or anything. At the right angle, she will also see a strange mark across his chest through his clothes, which is probably fine and normal.]

anyways, she just watches for a bit, trying to see how adept he is. the mark definitely seems fine and normal. after a while spent silently observing:]

You probably shouldn't wander too far into here.

[by now she's decided it's pointless to try and hide it, so he can see the words "the collapse" inked onto her arm.]

[Fortunately, Kanda is the last person here who'll ask about anyone's ink, or even look at it for more than a second. He does pause in his motions to respond, though, since he doesn't mind talking to her.]
