[Nah it's not that hard to find him. It would be overwhelming to have all these people around, but most of them were dead before this anyway, so he slowly got used to it. And besides, there are plenty of places for them to go now. It's fine.

So yeah, he can be sitting out by the stream; Mugen is deactivated and sheathed again, and he's cleaned up. Apart from being fully healed, he's dressed down in a simple yukata. He glances over at Caelus when he senses his approach and nods at him... apparently nothing will make him start an interaction first, god.]

[ nothing. not even the giant lance? caelus has it still. could use his powers to set it back in his inventory, but kanda seemed to enjoy it. let him show you his weapons. will this work better than a pspsps or constantly existing in his space? ]

The hilarity of knowing they really could've gone on a date if Caelus had just said "let's go somewhere" without explaining, except Kanda wouldn't have known what was going on so it wouldn't really count.

And there's nothing I can say to bring you and Lavi onto the Express instead of going back there.

[ a statement, because it's an easy, no points earned assumption. but if anything has changed in the last few days for kanda, why not say it? ]

[More than regret, he'd be pissed. Despite everything he says and does, Kanda doesn't like seeing people die on him. That's part of the reason he shuts himself off in the first place.

He opens his mouth to respond--but the lingering remnants of this place kick in before he can, giving Caelus an answer in a different way.]

[ if there's one person caelus doesn't want to cry in front of, it's kanda. so, when the memory becomes too much and his eyes grow warm, he's wiping at them immediately. he understands better now--not completely, but enough to see the picture within the frame, to have an idea of why there was no squirming his way into kanda's heart. maybe lavi will manage it, someday. maybe someone will convince kanda it's going to be okay again. he'll feel happy again. he'll forgive himself. ]
