[ after the trial, kate heads straight for the house. does not pass go, does not collect $200.
... a couple hours later, she emerges again. her clothes are stained with soot and her hair's a little messy... but she stops when she sees kanda still outside, and approaches him. ]
It's exactly like that. [This game is. So funny for DGMs. SO FUNNY.] Someone you knew yesterday could be an Akuma tomorrow. The only salvation for him now is through destruction.
[It sounds cold, even cruel, and maybe it is. But it's not meant to be. Being willing to lay out the hard facts is, in fact, the greatest kindness Kanda knows.]
They said there's no saving him. [I THINK? I WAS OUT FOR TRIAL IF I'M WRONG THIS TAG NEVER HAPPENED] So unless special measures need to be taken to handle him, this-- [He nods slightly, towards the barrier.] --is pointless.
[He doesn't think it's a matter of acceptance, really--not when the cult was able to affect Boothill without anyone noticing.]
Those three lost one of theirs. If that doesn't push them to move faster, then nothing will.
[Though what they can do about it, in that event--he doesn't know. He's too focused on the immediate threat in front of them to spare the energy for strategy.]
Mm. [Technically they're not totally helpless, but... as of right now, they can't fight against the most important thing, so Kanda isn't going to be pedantic.] ...All we can do is strike faster next time. And watch for people acting strangely.
[But Akuma blend in with the crowd all the time, so he doesn't have a lot of hope that they'll notice before someone gets attacked.]

Kanda's some distance away from the barrier, but close enough that it wouldn't be too hard for him to dart in and fight Boothill if needed.
He glances at her, and he doesn't seem harsh or angry--just serious and focused.]
If the barrier falls, he will attack without hesitating.
[And someone needs to be able to match that and take him down. After trial, he doesn't trust anyone else to have that fortitude.]

Did Boothill act strangely at any time between Monday and Thursday? I didn't see him very much during then...

He seemed as annoying as ever to me.

[Which he figures are pretty unlikely... maybe the first, but. Eh.]
