[Bursts into tears at having to be mean to Kate SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS

For now he's too busy to be racist against shadow girls, though, since he's changing back into his normal clothes!! He's got a second long coat over the first one and a sheathed sword in his hand. His hair's tied up in a ponytail now, and the robes they arrived in are abandoned on the ground.

He'll probably be instantly wary as soon as he sees her, but for now he just unsheathes his sword and studies it with a thoughtful frown on his face.]

[ hm. she won't come too close while this guy is holding a sword, but she does stop and take a look at him, then the discarded robe. she's in her regular clothes right now, so the shadowy features and lack of face are just out there. hi. ]

It looks like we've all been reunited with some of our personal effects.

He pauses when he sees her, and lowers her sword, but he holds it in a position that would allow him to attack very easily if needed. Shockingly, despite the way his eyes narrow, he doesn't lash out like he did with Karlach. She is the wrong size for (redacted) hallucinations and there are no (redacteds) around her, so...

Bluntly:]

[ she shakes her head, and keeps her hands where he can see them. ]

... I'm afraid I don't have a good explanation for what that is, exactly. But that is the name for people who look like me.

I'm a member of the Shadows household, a family of nobles that live in a large manor. I live in the children's wing of the building. Ordinarily, one would not leave the manor until reaching adulthood...

But I suppose these are unusual circumstances.

It's a place called Soot Island. But no one I've spoken to seems to have heard of it.

I've only read about them in books... Does that mean you deal with haunted places, possessions, and the like?

No. [But he doesn't seem surprised by the question... they get this a lot] Not unless they have the things we're looking for.

What sort of things do you look for?

Holy materials, for the Church.
