[His thoughts are--silent, mostly? Nothing's being broadcasted, at least, but there's something oppressive to the silence, like it's getting blocked off on purpose.
He glances over--and he's in the kind of mood where normally he'd snap something rude or get up and leave, but. Yuffie in particular gets rights after all of that.
By now, he's had enough time to work off some of his anger; his tone is still a little tight when he speaks, but it's directed at her.]
Did they ask you?
[He doesn't think so, since he figures she would've been there with them and he's already heard their reasons for keeping quiet, but. He wants to know from her.]
[ she's got a little windstorm above her head since she's having complicated feelings about this ]
No. I had nothing to do with it.
Gale told me after that he'd been involved in killing her, but that's it. I thought.... well, she was killed before she could kill again. [ Like Lucas, and like Nona... ] I had no idea there was a whole plan.
[ Or that now everyone wants to focus on preserving our numbers no matter how many monsters are running around killing... that thought is a little bitter ]
[There are small blips of thought-- tried to wait and asked Vin and stupid plan, right back into danger but he ignores his own thoughts.
He responds to hers, though, because he's forever an unequal conversation partner.]
...They could've brought him back instead.
[Kanda is wholly against resurrection to begin with, so he wouldn't have been okay with that either. But as cold as it is, he can see the logic of trading a killer's life for their victim's. Even though there are no Akuma here, he'll never not think it was stupid to drag someone right back onto the slaughtergrounds, but if they were going to do it with anyone, there were so many other options.]
... They could have. [ But I bet then people would have blamed me for it. Ugh, whatever, that's not important now. ]
If this plan doesn't work --- they're dooming Camille to live another nightmare. It's not fair to her. [ Did she even want this? What about the others who wanted to live? Didn't they deserve a chance? ]
You asked Vin about it? Did she mention anything to you?
[He's quiet through most of this, but it's not an icy silence, for her. Instead, it's because he agrees with everything she's saying. Kanda has about eight thousand reasons he's not okay with this turn of events, and she saw enough of his memories to understand the most personal and significant of them--but the points she's making are completely valid too, as far as he's concerned.]
No, she didn't. [Laudna found glass near Camille's body. An explanation for why he'd asked Vin in the first place, one that he normally wouldn't have shared because of the way he is, but. Whatever. He doesn't even bother mustering the energy to be annoyed about it.]
