[MY GOD I HATE IT HERE THE WAY HE WOULD HAVE IN FACT GONE WITH MATHIS IMMEDIATELY AFTER HIS ARRIVAL TO GO HAVE THEIR STUPID VIRCHE PC but it's fine this can be. Even later. HATEFUL. NOW IM DOING IT TOO this is so funny well this is fine.]
Some food, then?
[Tragically no soba, but there's some sort of noodle dish here, at least. Probably chow mein or something dry and easy to eat. At the question, his head cants to the side. Kanda's emotions are big complexy, but it's fine because so are his and he assumes so are everyone's for various reasons.]
I've seen him. He needs some time with the others now. Have you been able to speak with him yet?
[IT'S FINE IT'S FINE everyone needs PC bathroom breaks
This is not soba..... but actually he spends a lot of time in Asia so it's an okay substitute. He won't eat a lot but he might pick at it a little.]
Not yet. [He had to leave to deal with not knowing what the fuck Lavi plans on doing, and the shitty balance of being glad that Mathis is safely over here but also being a little resentful of the virches for getting to reunite. Big complexy.
Also x2:] Too many people go over there when someone shows up.
[He didn't want to crowd Mathis and he knew Lucas and the others would be there, so. It's not like Mathis was waking up alone]
[OUR PC BATHROOM BREAKS. AND THE NOT SOBA. It's fine it's fine... He can eat however much or little he wants.
Lucas, in the meantime, will just sit with any of these big complexy vibes that he's feeling. His own vibes are mostly just exhausted, so at least that's a decent counterweight.]
Well. That's certainly true. [That people just crowd... He himself had been very overwhelmed and wished that no one was around when he'd woken up, but over the weeks he's learned that he's definitely in the minority.]
Not really. [He doesn't feel a strong need to go out of his way to visit. Honestly he kind of assumes Mathis will come to him if he wants to, since that's what he did on the other side.] I'll see him eventually.
[Lucas your tired vibes... Kanda thinks that's understandable, though.
He's quiet for a minute, because he doesn't know if he wants to know the details--but he hasn't gotten any news and he's a little stir-crazy by this point, so.]
...Has he told you anything? [About what they're planning to do.]
[TIRED VIBES!!! That's just him constantly this week. My god.]
About their plans? [Just a guess, but he shakes his head.] Only that things had changed and forced him out of staying, even though he wanted to. He asked to go first among those who are to join us this week, but it sounds as though that's all the say he got.
[Which he is a little frustrated about, but only a little because he understands all of their hands are tied here.]
It's not good if they're not on the same page. [He trusts Lavi to be serious and competent when it matters--Geto and Anis too, of the others. But they don't form a majority, and they may not even be on the same page with each other. Logically, he knows they need to navigate with utmost caution right now, but it's so immensely frustrating to be in the dark.] Even if we use the rocks to keep them safe, we'll need a plan to deal with the cult.
[And they can't do that successfully if they're potentially arguing.]
[There's a little flicker of echoing frustration in his vibes at that. Lucas tries to have faith in them and in what they're doing on that side, but it's always easier to judge when you're in the dark.]
Yes... I do worry about our inability to communicate any of our plans with them. The final five, whoever they may be, will be in a difficult position.
[They're truly just going to have to deal with so much happening...]
At the very least, we should hopefully have the remainder here before the ritual itself, so we can work out more of our plans with the vast majority of us present... But I do understand your frustration.
[There's a bit of a grumbly thought along the lines of they could've written us more, but he doesn't give voice to it. Lucas can't do anything more about it than he can, after all. But he does appreciate the simple, straightforward agreement; it's less grating than the optimism he's had to deal with around others.]
Mm. ...We'll see who shows up.
[EXCEPT THEY WON'T KNOW UNTIL FRIDAY I GUESS but they have their meeting anyway and settle on FIGHT so it's fine. Woohoo]

Well, there are only so many places that we can go. He does have quite a bit to catch up on, in the meantime.
