[THANK GOD THEY HAVE THEIR STUFF or Karlach would not be the only person getting attacked in public, lordt. Kanda's immediately back in his normal clothes, with a second long coat over the first one and a sheathed sword in his hand. His hair's tied up in a ponytail now, and the robes they arrived in are just thrown on the ground. He's going to leave them there like a dick.
Currently, he is frowning at his other hand, one of which is not covered by his weird gloves--in addition to the papercuts he now has leech injuries (bites???) on it. Why.
[she's changed as well now, which means she's in a formal looking white gown which is a little bit torn in a few places, and also very bloodstained. she glances towards him.]
[He doesn't look like he's paying attention with the way he only glances at her for a brief moment, but he does actually take note of that. Damn so many of you are in bloody clothes.
He lowers his hand, starting to pull his other weird glove on, covering up the injuries. I hope he dies of infection from swamp amoebas.]
It's nothing. [Thanks Kanda] Have you seen any locals yet?
Depending on what time Vin is up and about (if she slept), she can find Kanda out in the woods early in the morning, training with his sword! As one does, y'know. He won't invite her to spar, but he also won't chase her off or anything. At the right angle, she will also see a strange mark across his chest through his clothes, which is probably fine and normal.]
anyways, she just watches for a bit, trying to see how adept he is. the mark definitely seems fine and normal. after a while spent silently observing:]
You probably shouldn't wander too far into here.
[by now she's decided it's pointless to try and hide it, so he can see the words "the collapse" inked onto her arm.]
[Fortunately, Kanda is the last person here who'll ask about anyone's ink, or even look at it for more than a second. He does pause in his motions to respond, though, since he doesn't mind talking to her.]
This spot isn't too close to the edge. [Of the Lost Woods... there are no koroks to laugh at them here]
[Vin wants him to be unhappy... I see how it is...
No I'm kidding YEAH THE BIG SMILE IS GONE. Thank god. He looks a tad grouchier than normal (at least around her, since she hasn't done anything to annoy him) but otherwise he seems like his normal self. He's just doing physical training out here--maybe some sit-ups or pushups, maybe some sword stuff, whatever. General exercise!]
No okay they can talk this time. It might take a little bit, though; for all that he goes around being rude and ruthlessly honest, he isn't completely stonehearted, and the things said during execution today were... well. You know.
So for now he's out in the woods, running through sword forms like he usually is. He pauses when he spots her and nods--waiting to see if she'll speak first.]
[I really sat here having a crisis trying to remember if Kanda has ever said "hello" to anyone in all 250+ chapters of his manga. Help. Since he respects her after yesterday, he can give a greeting, as a treat.]
Hello.
[...
......
.........
Okay "how are you" is pushing it but it's okay we still have 6 more weeks to go.]
[Well--the good thing about Kanda, at least for people like them, is that he so rarely, if ever, asks questions or prods into other people's business. As soon as he'd realized what was going on this week, he'd immediately tried to keep even more distance from others than usual; he has absolutely no desire to go nosing around in other people's memories.
But there's only so much they can do in such a small space. And while he doesn't particularly care about being rude, it also seems like a waste of time to pretend he didn't see anything. So, as the memory fades, he doesn't react right away--he looks at her instead, gauging her reaction to this particular memory being shared.]
She probably has people fussing over her and someone will have to tell him this happened anyway, so it'll be a while before he comes to find her; is she out of the swamp, and more importantly, are the side effects mild enough that she can chat? It'll be very brief, at least on his end.]
[she's out of the swamp! the main side effect looks to be that her hair has been replaced with sleek black feathers, though she's moving a bit more slowly than she would be otherwise. she glances his way as she sees him.]
[He nods at her in response--and he glances her over to make sure she's not still actively bleeding out or anything, but since she looks mostly healed, he won't comment about the rest.
[Camp it is!! Kanda is still bundled up like he was at execution; he's wearing both of his coats, and every now and then he struggles to breathe, which--well, obviously it's not fun, but he looks like he's tolerating it, at least well enough to check out the new area.
Also barks... looks like he's seriously contemplating the benefits of death (no) (unless)]
Why. [There's so many people barking. "Why" as in "why is this happening, why are we here, just to suffer"]
[Looks at Tuesday looks back here with tears in my eyes
WELL. First off, he is freshly swamped!! There are faint bruises on his neck and light burn scarring on the left side of his face, plus his left ear is missing. Any other wounds are not visible since he's back in his normal clothes, which have been stitched up. His little golem is nestled in his shirt.
Lavi gets first rights immediately post-swamp, but Kanda will stay here for a bit to regain his bearings after they part. He's holding himself very stiffly, but he's not shivering or wheezing like he was last time he was in the swamp, thankfully. When he glances at her, his expression turns flat and cold, but he doesn't get up and stomp off, so that's. Something.]
