[Every day I'm sad I didn't app yams or childe... instead I just have this stinky bitch
At least he's--well. It's hard to say if he's enjoying himself, because Kanda only ever smiles for terrible mean reasons, but he stays engaged and intense the whole time, so it's probably close enough. He also seems completely unfazed by the polite excitement Rondo exudes when they're done, as if this is something he's used to. Sometimes you're the equivalent of a pacrim pilot, if there were only like 6 jaegers and a million kaiju everywhere all the time and the whole thing was also secret.
He doesn't thank him back, but he does sit down to check over his sword briefly, and then takes his hair down to fix the bits that fell out of his ponytail. ONCE AGAIN, PROBABLY CLOSE ENOUGH.
At some point, the word faded from the back of his hand; at Rondo's comment, a picture of a lotus blooms in its place.]
Your sword. [Kanda please stop ignoring the things Rondo says for the love of god] You're not used to it.
[ i feel like yams and rondo can't be in the same room together their sheer energy might blow up an entire building. childe tho. imagine non stinky cr with childe. clenches fist.
ALAS i love this stinker. it's a good spar - rondo clearly enjoyed himself, and he has no problem saying so. not only that, but kanda's lack of response is, to him, signalling that it went well, too. this is how sazantos is, after all. no response is a good response. no nitpicks or bitchy comments is as good as a "that was fun", and he's glowing a little bit with exertion and pride as he goes to put his sword back in its sheath.
though, the comment has him pause. he looks up, notices the lotus, looks at kanda... ]
...mm. [ some of that exuberance fades, and he looks down at the strange hilt of the blade. ] It's ... this isn't my sword. It belongs to someone else.
[ its impossible to get stinky cr with lbx its true
anyway. he doesn't seem like he's going to say anything either, at least at first. ]
... Even if it's not mine, it's going to be. [ the sword. he exhales, a little more determined. ] So, I have to keep working with it. I have to keep practicing until I master it.
[It's not something Kanda can relate to--not when, in his world, your weapon chooses you and only you. When the only choice most accommodators get is which type of death you want: the hands of the enemy, or the punishment of God. He's used other swords before, but only in emergencies, and those weren't special or meaningful to anyone.
But he does know a thing or two about forced connections. He won't say that, of course, because why would he, but it is something he takes note of.]

Also he doesn't say anything in response to that, so Rondo is free to elaborate if he wants, otherwise he can change the subject... it is up to him]
