Kanda's immediately changing back into his normal clothes as soon as they get their stuff!! He's got a second long coat over the first one and his hair tied up in a ponytail. He also has his sword, which is unsheathed as he studies it, checking for damage. The fact that it's blood red is probably very normal and unconcerning. Don't worry about it.

He seems more-or-less satisfied, so he lowers his sword and turns to the nearest person, aka Totty.]

Has anyone found a local yet? [PLEASE be more polite]

[ that is so many layers... meanwhile todomatsu's just in a pink hoodie and jeans rolled up above his ankles. part of him had been kind of wishing he had one of his nicer, trendier outfits instead, but on second thought, if he's going to be stuck with one outfit for who knows how long, he's glad it's a simple and comfortable one.

anyway! he looks up from his phone with kind of an "uh, hello to you too" look. but he lets that go, and just shakes his head. ]

Not that I know of. But given how run-down this place is, I don't know that it gets a lot of traffic.

Well, there are plenty of weird people here... but I haven't noticed anyone who seems like they know more about what's going on than anyone else, or anything like that.

Week 1, Thursday

[Kanda was not on the island, so he has no idea anything happened. He is just here in town, walking past. DOES TOTTY LOOK VISIBLY INJURED PLEASE SAY YES I WANT A THREAD SO BAD]

[ HELP he does have bandages around one of his hands and a visible fractal scar on his neck, so there's that??? he also looks, like. creepily pale. borderline grey. ]

Got pulled into another world and fought a necromancer, or something.

There's another one? [How many fucking necromancers are in this place jesus-- wait] What do you mean, another world?

I mean, it sure seemed like it. We just got lost in the fog at first, but eventually ended up in this walled-in city with a castle. Some of the people who are alive here were corpse puppets there, and the way we came back was... it was like the ground fell out from under us, and we passed through this weird room before falling into the fog again... I don't know.

[ completely skipping over what felt like the main chunk of it for him personally!!! ]

[Luckily for Totty but unluckily for me, Kanda won't ask about his personal experiences... clenches my fists. He looks very serious, though.]

Did you see anyone you didn't recognize? ...Anyone with crosses on their foreheads?

Crosses...? [ squints, trying to picture this, but shakes his head. ] I saw someone I didn't recognize, but I think that was just someone Alfyn-san knew from home.

...Well, and the necromancer, obviously.

He--doesn't relax, exactly, because this is still bad news, but his demeanor shifts back to the more normal levels of alert wariness he's had recently.]

I guess she could have some trick up her sleeve given her specialty, but as far as I know, yeah. We destroyed the item she'd been getting her power from. ...And I stabbed her for good measure.

Good. [It's enough for now; he can hope that if nothing else, this lady will take time to revive before she comes back to harass people.]

Week 2, Monday/Tuesday

Kanda is going to do his best to avoid people this week, but alas... crossing paths is inevitable, especially if Totty is moving in. I'll leave this choice up to you; if you want to grab a couple of options that's also fine!]

he kind of awkwardly raises a hand in greeting whenever he encounters kanda in the house, because he's just like wow lavi SO did not ask you about this did he, and he really doesn't want anyone with a deadly weapon to dislike him. ]

[ fully intending to keep walking after his polite acknowledgement if the memory shadows don't have other plans!! ]

Totty is correct though, Lavi did NOT ask him about it, like a PUNK!!! But Kanda is, perhaps surprisingly, less grouchy about it than his usual behavior might've led one to believe? He and Lavi sleep in shifts anyway, and if Lavi gave up his own bed for Totty in favor of the floor or whatever, then that's not Kanda's problem. Some days Kanda doesn't even come back to sleep at night at all, and he's out of the house for much of the day anyway; when he is here, he's mostly quiet and calm, keeping to himself aside from bickering with Lavi (and maybe Yuffie).

ALL THIS TO SAY he doesn't hate Totty for moving in here, and honestly after CYOA returns he likes ("likes") Totty fine, so he'd more than happy to just nod at him and walk on by!! Except they CAN'T, because they get VOIDED, and a memory begins to play.

Yeah. [Fortunately this is pretty low on the list of memories he doesn't want people seeing, so--he's a little grumpy about the void happening, but not, like, about to run Totty through for seeing it.] They can mess around with dimensions, so I wouldn't put it past them to show up here eventually.

If they were going to show up on purpose, they would have by now. [Though he guesses there's no reason they couldn't just. Wander by. But it seems unlikely to him.] And if they did, it would be to talk the rest of you into making more Akuma because you're depressed over all the dead people and easy to manipulate.
