[Finally gets to this now that I'm done attacking yaywon with asws OKAY ANYWAY hello

Kanda has to leave his room eventually (apart from checking on Daan and Karlach), but he can be found... staring at the mall!! He has. Such a dubious look on his face. He doesn't want to go in there... but there's soba in there... DILEMMA.

Also I will constantly forget unless I specify but he still has light burn scarring on his face and a missing ear from their fun little trip. Wowie]

[ Guess who is walking toward the mall!!!! ]

Oh, Kanda.

[ Aventurine looks between Kanda and the mall, a little question mark appearing above his head like why is this guy just standing here. ]

... Are you afraid to go inside?

Most new places in this town are terrible.

[THE ISLAND WITH TREES FULL OF BEES, THE SCHOOL WITH THE CRYSTAL TEETH ROOM, THE HOUSE WHERE ISHTAR GOT KILLED BY A SKIN MONSTER, THE SUMMER CAMP WHERE HE DIED AND GOT EATEN BY A BEAR...... the track record of checking out new spots has been so bad. He's preemptively exhausted by whatever's in this building and he hasn't even gone in yet.]

This place isn't. We come here all the time, usually for the cats and the Jamba Juice.

[ To help, Aventurine will walk up to the doors and hold one open for Kanda. Immediately, a couple of cats appear at the door to peer curiously outside. ]

They're friendly.

He looks at these cats... wow... more of his own kind...]

Why don't you find out for yourself? There's food inside, too. Aren't you a little bit hungry?

He's still kind of mentally and emotionally drained but you know what, eating will give him something to hyperfocus on, so. He starts to head inside finally...

But his balance is still fucked from his missing ear and there are cats underfoot now and I rolled a 3 so he stumbles and crashes into Aventurine as he does.]

[ I JUST BLOW UP THEIR CR

Oh, for goodness sakes. This would happen to him, and Aventurine grabs hold of Kanda before the other man can bash his head into anything. ]

Okay, food and a seat. You're really pushing yourself here.

[Hilariously that wouldn't even do it

He does look very pissy right now, though, grinding his teeth as he straightens up. There are a lot of angry stray thoughts that essentially amount to fucking demons and goddamn swamp, as loud as if he'd said them.

On the bright side, it means he stomps inside, so they're finally through the door!!!]

[ Oh, well, Aventurine's expression will darken a bit at the mention of demons, but he follows Kanda inside wordlessly.

And then he'll lead them toward the food court where there is probably some generic Japanese place that sells rolls and udon and soba. ]

If you want to take a seat, I can grab you what you want. Soba, right?

[ Remembers their cyoa and getting linguini thrown at his head. ]

[Yeah. Yeah!!! You feel him.

But he will... nod once, shortly, and then go sit down somewhere, rubbing absently at the spot where his ear used to be. God it's weird to be nerfed. It's been over a month and he's still adjusting.]

[ PLEASE GET YOUR EAR BACK

It does not take very long for Aventurine to return with a tray of soba. It's actually kind of a ridiculously large portion, but he'd made a special request.

And then he slides it in front of Kanda before taking a seat on the other side of the table. ]

[Takes it... there's a brief thought of he's not eating? as he breaks the chopsticks apart, but he only hesitates for a minute before he starts eating.]

...Thanks.

[His extremely rare manners... he will extend them on this occasion before he descends into silence]

All people did while I was on bedrest was feed me.

[ He's still feeling full and he has plenty of leftovers at his apartment.

Once Kanda starts eating, Aventurine will lapse into silence and look off to the side like he's thinking about something. ]

[Fair enough. He assumes bed rest had to do with their adventure, so he doesn't ask about that one.

Instead, he'll just eat quietly; he seems unbothered by the silence, and he won't break it before Aventurine does.]

[tactic]

[ Okay, but you're going to hate the subject.

When he turns back to Kanda, he looks more curious than anything else. ]

You didn't want any healing?

[sixillusions]

[He pauses, his expression turning annoyed--not at Aventurine, just. In general.]

I got some. [Not that I could tell the Stupid Rabbit not to.] It didn't fix everything.

[tactic]

[ STARES AT KANDA'S EAR... OR WHERE IT SHOULD BE ]

You should have Nehan or Mr. Daan look at it.

... Because they're doctors. They might have some suggestions for you.

[He'd probably go to them if it did, but right now, he doesn't want anything, or anyone, else messing around with his body.]
