[grits my teeth in not being able to adore her ICly
But she can find him frowning at the plaque outside their lovely little house. There's also a very large number (in the low thousands) on his upper arm! Whether he's noticed it or not is anyone's guess. Kanda sucks so he won't strike up conversation first, but he won't start booking it at the mere sight of a stranger, so that's. Probably something we can work with, right? Right.]
[yeah! she'll give a little wave. hello. she has tree branch tattoos across her body, some of them spell out words. Why are you doing what she asked? is written out.]
[As the most useless person in the world, he will not ask questions about her ink--he does make note of it, though there's a good chance he'll never mention it.
He's got his arms crossed and his sheathed sword in hand; he glances at her when she speaks and then looks back at the plaque.]
I don't plan on staying here. [He doesn't want his name on this thing! Get it off!!]
Kanda's in the house for now! Probably getting ready to head out to his curfew spot. By now he probably heard about the CYOA group return, unless all of my other PCs fail me, which would be very funny.
Typically, he isn't one to ask personal questions--he avoids building bonds like the plague, and he is the last person in the world people turn to for a comforting word. But after last week, he's on high alert for anything out of the ordinary tonight, and her subdued energy is enough to catch his attention.
He pauses to observe her for a minute, before he says anything--looking for any visible, physical differences, and briefly glancing at whatever she's embroidering.]
[Against all odds, Kanda is not actually a complete ice queen; the human deaths, well, that's about what he expected, but even he's a little caught off-guard by Pickles's poster being up on the board too. He comes back to the house eventually, but after he enters he just kind of. Stops and looks at the floor for a minute, like he's surprised Pickles isn't there.]
[Kanda showed emotion at execution today which means he has to vanish into the woods for even longer than usual to reassert dominance.
This is probably a joke. But it does take a little while for him to come back to the house--when he does, he doesn't pause at the doorway like he did on Friday, seemingly already adjusted to their smaller numbers.
He did notice her mood out there today, though, so when he spots her, he looks at her face, trying to gauge how she seems now that it's all over.]
Kanda is going to hate this week and will do his best to avoid everything and everyone as soon as he realizes what's going on, but it's inevitable for them to cross paths, especially being housemates and all. Sooner or later, they're going to get stuck--and when they do, Laudna can see a memory.
((I think the only CW here is mentions of child experimentation and violence; it's not super graphic but lmk if you need a different memory!))]
i don't think she's even socially aware enough to see a very personal memory from someone very private like him and think that she should pretend she didn't see or not acknowledge it. she saw it. it was there. the memory finishes, and she pulls at her hair, twisting the lock that hangs down in front of her face nervously around one hand, a little nervous and unsettled.
she likes kanda. he's aloof, but he isn't cruel, and that kind of person is less frightening than someone unpredictable. seeing this helps her understand a little. he's also someone who's been hurt, who just wants to belong.]
...Are they your family? [tiedoll and the people who took him in, that is.]
[They can!! He likes forests best, so he'll be out here even though he probably shouldn't be wandering around while he's injured. This week's locations are much more to his tastes than the last ones were.]
After the execution, Kanda can by found the pyre for most of the day!! He is here with his blankie and his wheezing breath... he is wearing the second, lighter coat he had before over his exorcist outfit, with the blanket on top of it.
He looks up when he senses her approaching and nods in greeting. Hewwo]
[laudna is standing at the bottom of the radio tower. her thought share is manifesting right now as just a few flowers dancing around her head; she seems to be in a good mood. but she's also looking up at the top of the tower.
[He once again probably should not be wandering around right now, but he's not dead yet so that's exactly what he's doing. He's tolerating his swamp symptoms well enough, all things considered; and he knows from Ashlyn and Lavi that they probably won't last too long, so. It's fine. He can manifest shivering lines, as a treat.
Peering up at the tower as well...]
No idea. [Could jump up and--wait, I can't. Tch...]
[He's back at the house, yeah! It's a bit early for curfew, but the swamp takes a lot out of a person and he's tired after All That anyway. But he's cleaned up and back in his normal clothes, with his exorcist coat buttoned up. There's light burn scarring on his face, plus his left ear is missing, but he doesn't seem to be in intense pain, and whatever effects he's got aren't as immediately obvious as the shivering and the wheezing. That's probably fine.
His golem is also here now!! It's tucked into his collar and peering up at him with its big eye; Kanda doesn't seem bothered by its presence there as he eats a bowl of instant soba at the table.]
[Looks at our 1,000 curses flying around and our plot meeting later and our party tomorrow. Oh god. NORMAL MEMSHARE
But she can get his whole long baby backstory, as a treat. CWs for human experimentation, child torture, body horror, violence, mass murder, and attempted suicide!! If you would like a different memory just lmk!]
[HELP Surely the curse has worn off by now... it's fine. They can air the house out.]
It looks like it. [He glances at her. He doesn't say it out loud, but he remembers she wasn't eager to fight, so a stray thought slips through. Is she alright?]
