WHICH IS WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE AS WELL BECAUSE KANDA SUCKS... but at least she hasn't done anything to make him want to leave if she gets close, so she can find him sitting out by the water, meditating quietly. If she approaches, she'll see the number 2 on his chest through his clothes.

Also his hair is kind of stiff. Why.]

but first we recreate that one scene in dgm where lenalee meditates with kanda. aqua seats herself quietly albeit a respectful distance away from him. (since she doesn't actually really know him like lenalee does.)

and!! a pretty decent amount of time passes, before she finally speaks up. ]

He doesn't seem to mind her company, though; actually, though it's impossible to tell with the Ice Queen over here, this elevates his opinion of her. People who can be calm and quiet...]

W1 MONDAY

[HELP NOT THE SHEEP!! At least he likes Aqua (well. for him) enough that between that and affection week, he probably didn't put up too much fuss about coming here. But that also means she gets to deal with it as he just stands awkwardly, letting sheep bonk into him.]

Week 1, Sunday

Just like last week, he leaves execution as soon as it's over; she can find him out in the woods again, running through the last of his sword forms. He looks over and nods at her in acknowledgment. A greeting? From Kanda??? Incredible.

He doesn't seem broken up about what happened out there--but there's a little restlessness to him that betrays he isn't entirely unaffected, either.]

but yes she sees his acknowledgement and responds with a nod of her own. they're doing so great... and since they've been (handwave) sparring regularly together now, she can probably tell there's something affecting his swordwork. (the movements still look clean and precise, but... something.) ]

The offer makes him pause in his movements--he looks like he's thinking about it. Normally he doesn't interrupt his own routines, but... this time, he nods, and sheathes his sword.]

[It's not like he isn't used to doing it alone, but it's kind of nice to do it with someone else too--familiar, in a way. Kanda can't afford to trust strangers even here, especially not with a killer on the loose, but... he can afford this much, for a little while.]

For better or for worse, Kanda isn't the sort of person to ask questions or push for personal details. In her memory, they wander through the darkness--he feels the way her grief and nostalgia intertwine, the longing held back only by her determination, and he knows that, in her shoes, he would not want anyone to interrogate him about it. In many cases, he'd ask nothing out of disinterest; in hers, it's at least partially out of respect as well.

Still--as much as he closes himself off, he pays attention. That holds true now, too, and he quietly files it away. He doesn't talk right away, but eventually:]

It's very easy to tell which cat is him because he has one ear and he's also exuding the emotion of RAGE. He's sitting by the fountain right now, tail lashing angrily... there's also this little thing hanging out near him!]

WELL IT'S EMOSHARE WEEK: everyone gets the same, steady baseline emotions of warm fondness and care, the feeling of being wrapped up in sunlight, or perhaps the brightness of the stars on a clear night.

she's brought him a few cat treats from the cat store. ]

W5 SATURDAY

[ kandaaaaaa ahhhh thinks about how their last weekend pc ("pc") was before aqua's execution lol... he's probably a good person to find anyway whether they're meditating or just sitting down somewhere to eat. 🥹

the feelings are a bit conflicted but generally calm for the most part. like understandably concerned, and sad for everything that's happened (with robin and with kate). ]

...Never an easy weekend, is it. I hope Lavi will be all right.

[AAAAAAA MY SWEET AQUA!!!! He left trial watch early and vanished for a while, but yes, eventually he'll be around, either eating soba somewhere, doing his practice forms, or nightly meditation... any of them.]

He'll be fine. [He is maybe trying to convince himself of this as well, but. We don't need to talk about that. Pay no attention to the slight twist of uncertainty in his otherwise equally calm (though a bit forcibly muted) emotions.] This is our job.

[It's not the first time, even though it never really stops sucking.]

aqua's in the hospital, seated upright on a bed in one of the private rooms. her injuries aren't entirely mended from the spring, but they're definitely less life-threatening than before. she has bandages over her left forearm, right upper arm, her chest and her abdomen (though those aren't immediately apparent under her hospital gown).

...her hair is lighter than usual, and her eyes are yellow.

...also, she can't see him, so he'll have to make his presence known first. ]

He frowns a little as he steps inside, seeing how she looks. He's not a loud person, but he has no reason to keep his steps purposely quiet, either, so she can probably hear him coming in.]

W7 TUESDAY

[ takes them all the way back to animal crossing island... she still hasn't really gone back to the beach portion, but she doesn't mind where the flowers grow, further inland. ]

[That's fair. He doesn't mind AC island, actually. He can even be wearing a cozy outfit from the store, as a treat. I'm too lazy to google one though because it's probably just a long-sleeved shirt and pants anyway. He is not a fashion girlie.

Two months is a while, but I don't think it's as dire for us as it is for some of you. [Considering he fucked off for three months shortly before his canonpoint and the world didn't end, he's like. A little worried? But not that worried.] I was heading back to the Order anyway. Lavi was missing, but he can just come back with me.

[Scawwy has sucked in a lot of ways but it's mostly been canon-typical levels of sucking for them, tbh. Being nerfed and MURDERED was the worst part. It also means Lavi gets to be freed from his chair so in some ways it's actually better.]
