Kanda's immediately changing back into his normal clothes, abandoning the robes they came in on the ground like a jerk. He's got a second long coat over the first one and his hair tied up in a ponytail!! He doesn't seem, like, any happier, but he does look slightly more comfortable now that he's got his sword.

Once that's done, he is going to... head back to the profiles!!! I wonder what he is possibly going to attempt to do with a sharp object against some pieces of paper]

Week 0, Monday

[WE ARE ROOMIES!!! Jury's out on whether Kanda will stay in this house or not. I have not yet decided. He'll at least bathe, though, so no more stinky. Though his hair is a little stiff now... rip

Anyway, when she sees him, she will see the number 2 on chest, over his heart! It shows through his clothes. Wowie. I'm so sorry that she's going to have to keep starting their conversations]

[ she has bathed also but she doesn't have kanda's luscious locks..... she raises her eyebrows at "2". probably doesn't know it means kill count yet, but if she did, she'd be surprised. she's got "sonon" and "nero" on her exposed tummy. ]

[At some point before curfew, Yuffie can catch Kanda stomping grouchily back to the house...

Stomping, as in, with one very large foot. Only one.]

[ yuffie has "not being good enough to save anyone" across her midriff but she raises an eyebrow at him ]

Hey. Just wanted to say thanks for yesterday.

[WELL. Well. After yesterday and today, he views her differently, actually? Though whether that's a good thing or not is... mm. Complicated. Because the thing is--Kanda knows he's the outlier. Out of the few living exorcists they have, he's well aware that he's the coldest. No matter how much it might backfire and hurt them, the others still form bonds, connections, relationships. Not just Allen, though he's the worst about throwing himself forward for anyone he sees in pain--Lenalee, Tiedoll, Komui, Johnny, so many others are much the same. The ones who fight, not out of loyalty to God, but to protect their friends and family. Even Kanda has people he doesn't want to lose, but his kindness comes in the form of acting quickly and without mercy, and otherwise standing firm when everyone else is wavering.

Things are different now, after the past few months. He's a little more willing to acknowledge the value in those bonds, a little less instantly harsh with anyone who gets attached quickly and wears their heart on their sleeve. And besides, he and Lavi are the only exorcists here. It would be foolish to expect the rest of them to face the events of this weekend with the same weary fortitude that years with the Order can beat into you.

Still. Hesitation is a sign of weakness. More importantly, it leads to death. Those are the facts. Laying them out: That is also his kindness.]

Kanda's back here eventually, after investigations wrap up; Yuffie can find him sitting downstairs with his arms crossed, just quietly thinking. He doesn't greet her, really, but he glances up as she enters, which is decent acknowledgment from him.]

[mogger]

[ wow getting spoiled.... yuffie's walking a little gingerly, but unlike last week she does return to the house and sits down nearby. gives him a little nod, but then cuts to the chase immediately ]

Three freakin' bodies.

[ including pickles our sweet doggie and ichiban our sweet........ man? ] And they can't all have been monster killed.

Week 2, Monday

Kanda is going to hate this week and do everything he can to avoid people, but since they live together, they will run into each other sooner rather than later. When they do, Yuffie gets to see a memory.

You think there's anything worth finding in here?

No. [He figures that even though this cult seems weirdly incompetent in so many ways, they probably aren't stupid enough to leave a "escaping the village 101" booklet or a "guide to sabotaging a sacrificial ritual" lying around.] But we should check anyway.

[Just in case they really are... that stupid...]

Week 3, Sunday

[Once again... Kanda is just... sitting here... waiting to be approached... SOMEDAY I'LL BE BETTER AT THIS

He's by the pyre after execution, wearing his usual outfit plus the second coat he had on back in the beginning. He's also got a blanket draped over him, and now and again he seems like he's struggling to breathe? But he doesn't seem to be freaking out or anything, so that's probably a good sign.]

No I'm kidding. Well, kind of. He is out there for a very long time, if she wants to stumble on him while he's in the middle of working out his emotions and running through his sword forms. Otherwise, she can find him out by the stream; not meditating, just sitting with his arms crossed, clearly in a bad mood.]

Week 6, Wednesday

Kanda sticks around the party for a little while like a good boy, but eventually even reunion time gets too overwhelming. GOODBYE!!!

But it's okay, he doesn't vanish. He just wanders further into the vineyard, even though he doesn't like wine. He's back in his normal clothes as well, though he has his hair down, which makes it easier to hide his missing ear. He's also semi-transparent and mostly intangible, alas.

When he sees her, he gives her a flat look.]

Don't hurt yourself again. [SAVE THE PUNCHES FOR ANOTHER TIME DINGDONG]

[mogger]

[ she is in her moogle outfit so he couldn't see any injuries even if he wanted to nyeh nyeh ]

Week 6, Saturday

[Well, he left trial around the time Nehan started talking about choices and whatnot and never came back... if she goes to look for him immediately after trial, she'll have to risk knocking on his door at the apartments.

If she gives it some time, she'll eventually find him heading out for his usual nighttime sword practice. The cracks on his skin are gone, though he's still missing his ear and his wrist is bandaged. I forgot I left light burn scarring on his face too oh well. Maybe it's healed now idk don't make me remember the injuries I kept

EITHER WAY he's clearly not in a good mood, though if she approaches he won't shove her away immediately. Water bottle privileges]

He's not going to see Mathis until tomorrow so it's during re-repression time. Unless she had other things to do he probably left the meeting with her to go punch out their feelings. Honestly Yuffie is truly the person here with the most rights for him right now, since she's the only other person who both really wants Lavi here and doesn't know for sure what he chose to do. Maybe Laudna as well, but that's not the same.]

...Gale said partners won't die immediately. [She probably knew that, but he didn't, so he's saying it.] So they shouldn't need to worry about that.

[Conflicted feelings because on the one hand instant partner deaths would mean more people getting to safety, on the other, it also means they were more free to make individual decisions than he'd thought.]

week 7, saturday
