[Bursts into tears at having to be mean to Kate SHE DOESN'T DESERVE THIS

For now he's too busy to be racist against shadow girls, though, since he's changing back into his normal clothes!! He's got a second long coat over the first one and a sheathed sword in his hand. His hair's tied up in a ponytail now, and the robes they arrived in are abandoned on the ground.

He'll probably be instantly wary as soon as he sees her, but for now he just unsheathes his sword and studies it with a thoughtful frown on his face.]

[ hm. she won't come too close while this guy is holding a sword, but she does stop and take a look at him, then the discarded robe. she's in her regular clothes right now, so the shadowy features and lack of face are just out there. hi. ]

It looks like we've all been reunited with some of our personal effects.

Week 0, Monday

[ at the haunted house, kate steps outside to see kanda near the plaque. she tries not to draw attention to it, but along one of her shins is a word in white lettering: FALSE. ]

Ah... It seems we may be sharing a living space for the next while.

... This may be a difficult arrangement...

[SWEET KATE... the way I thought Kanda would be extra violent towards her but it's currently the opposite is so funny

Luckily, Kanda won't ask anyone about their marks; it's hard to tell if he even notices it. For his part, the words Alma Karma show through his clothes on his back when his hair isn't in the way.

He makes a slight face at this plaque, his arms loosely crossed. He's got his sword, but by now it's probably obvious that he just carries it all the time.]

The woods are quiet. [DON'T JUST RECOMMEND SHE SLEEP IN THE WOODS]

Week 0, Friday

[ Over by the pyre, there is a second, smaller, darker stream of smoke rising up into the air...

And beneath that, Kate can be found standing by the bulletin board, looking at these two posters. The smoke is coming, of course, from her head, as she gazes silently at them. ]

[puts Kate on a high shelf NO DEATH THIS IS MY DAUGHTER

Kanda and Lavi were definitely out of the house immediately, so he's probably on his way back; he'll stop with her, looking at the posters with a serious expression.]

Has anyone found them?

Week 0, Saturday

[ after the trial, kate heads straight for the house. does not pass go, does not collect $200.

... a couple hours later, she emerges again. her clothes are stained with soot and her hair's a little messy... but she stops when she sees kanda still outside, and approaches him. ]

... You're still out here?

[Goodbye babygirl :(

Kanda's some distance away from the barrier, but close enough that it wouldn't be too hard for him to dart in and fight Boothill if needed.

He glances at her, and he doesn't seem harsh or angry--just serious and focused.]

If the barrier falls, he will attack without hesitating.

[And someone needs to be able to match that and take him down. After trial, he doesn't trust anyone else to have that fortitude.]

Week 1, Monday

[SWEET KATE!!! I hope she is in the cutest dresses (pleading_face)

If Kate spots him out and about, he'll be in his usual exorcist wear like a boring person... he's mostly sticking to the main town unless he gets dragged off into the new locations, so she can see him meditating near the water or doing sword training in the woods like always. At the house, though, he'll finally wear something different!! Namely a nice blue cardigan... warm and soft... waow. She can find him there chopping up some pumpkin from the field! Do we have knives actually. I assume we do]

[ after checking out the island, kate's coming back with a sunflower dress! her pigtails and hair ornaments have been replaced with a headband decorated with daisies.

she comes up beside him. ]

Week 1, Sunday

[I hope Kate is our escaped killer and we just conveniently look away every time she kills, forever.

But that happened... and probably unsurprisingly, he doesn't seem particularly broken up about the loss of five people (er. four people and a dog) in one fell swoop. He does seem a little distracted as he comes back to the house, maybe a tad restless--but otherwise he just stops and nods at her when he sees her. How is sweet Kate doing...]

[ idk i think kanda should kill her, just to be safe. ]

Oh, Kanda. It's good to see you.

[ her voice is calm, like usual. but there's also a hint of tension, like there's some effort going into that calmness. ]

... It was difficult to watch all of that.

Week 2, Monday

[ hello kanda, it's a lovely day to be unceremoniously yanked into a memory-void!

they see a memory.

(note: the fan translation is not great. "emilyko" should be "emilico." however, if it looks like certain characters are speaking in the third person... that is correct. they are doing that. it is weird and it is different from how kate has been speaking here in scawwy.) ]

[Typically, this week, Kanda's been doing his best to avoid the memory voids--mostly because he's such an intensely private person, but also because he's placed so much distance between himself and everyone else here. In many ways, he's a good person to get stuck with; he has little desire to ask questions or offer pushy, potentially unwanted words of sympathy.

Kate is one of the very, very few exceptions. He's noted her down as something to investigate if they make it out of here alive--and beyond that, Kate has been quiet, diligent, and respectful, which makes it easier to spend time with her compared to many others here. Combined, that means he's... not fussy over her, really, he can't be when they're strangers, when so much of this is out of his control--but it does mean he's more attentive with her than he is with so many others.

So for once, he actually pays attention to what he's seeing. And when it ends, he's quiet, processing everything he just saw before he looks at her.]

The drink did something to them. [That much was obvious, but it's a question; given the ending of the memory, he isn't sure how much more she knows.]

Week 2, Sunday

[Hewwo sweet Kate

It'll be easy for them to cross paths, especially since he's probably mostly stuck in the house with his injuries... it's not hard for her to find him around, still very heavily bandaged. Inside, he'll have his exorcist coat off in favor of wearing a soft cardigan... waow. Uses this icon even though he is not angry right now, just tired.

But he'll nod at her when he sees her even so!! How's the girl doing.]

[ kate's in a black dress that she kind of disappears into. sometimes you just want to be a little less Seen but you still need to be cute.

she nods back at him. ]

Week 3, Wednesday

[After the event, Kanda makes his way into the library to rest a little before heading all the way back to the house... healing is so hard when it's this slow, damn.

He has... an art book in his hand!! Though he's also not reading it, and instead has a vaguely disgruntled thousand-yard stare going on. What is he thinking about.]

[ kate's making her way around the library, a few books already tucked under her arm, apparently planning to grab a few to bring back to the house. ]

Oh, Kanda!

[ she comes over to greet him, and peers at the book in his hand. ] Did you find something interesting?

Week 4, Monday

[ happy thoughtshare monday! today's fit.

kate's at the boardwalk, staring up at the ferris wheel with awe. she gives a little start when she realizes kanda is nearby, but then she gives him a polite nod and a soft little woof. ]

What a lively-looking place... even though there aren't any people.

[HER FIT IS SO CUTEEEEEEEE my god I typed her cute is so cute THIS HEAT IS MELTING MY BRAIN

He is here to check this place out even though he probably shouldn't be doing that considering he's still bundled up in multiple layers and occasionally struggling to breathe? But. It's fine. He doesn't look like he's in agony or anything, he just kind of looks like this sucks to deal with.

Eyeballing the boardwalk...

And then looks exhausted by everything. Why this.]

Week 6, Monday

[ well... at some point she'll find an opportunity to awkwardly approach. ]

Kanda... um. Is it okay if we talk for a little bit?

[He left her alone on Sunday because he is himself, but he's not actively avoiding her, so he's all that hard to find, really. He favors the same types of places he did before--away from the crowds whenever he can manage it, and often in outdoor areas with lots of trees and such.

She can find him in one of those places, finishing a cup of tea he brought from the mall. He looks over as she approaches, but it's not emotionshare anymore, so it's hard to tell how he's feeling.]

Week 6, Friday/early Saturday

[WHICHEVER YOU WOULD LIKE

On Friday after their adventure, he can be found hanging out near the spring! He doesn't go in, but he's waiting near it just in case his crumbling gets worse and he really does need serious healing.

Once he's sure he won't crumble and die, though, he retreats to his room! By Saturday, he's back to his normal routine, and she can find him meditating in the closest wooded area like usual.]

[ let's go with friday!! she'll come looking for this crumbly man once she's let the others fuss and tend to her. ]

Aren't you going to get healed...?

[ you're supposed to go in the spring... ]

Week 7, Tuesday

[ kate runs into him somewhere the morning after town hall and old-yellering. ]

I wonder if we covered everything we needed to...

[ still stressing over the plot ]

[Mood. Mood!!!]

We just have to decide how to deal with the cult. [Which is like. The most important thing? But they can't spend their rocks right now anyway so he's not, like, angry about taking a little time to figure it out, at least.] We should be able to afford everything else we need.

Week 7, Friday

[ what's up!! our happy graveyard town (was it) is now a foggy hellscape with monsters lurking in the shadows. and shadows lurking in the shadows. this one is just looking to see what kanda is up to, though.

is he doing any prep for tomorrow or is he just off being kanda somewhere... ]

[He is doing... Kanda-style prep!! She can find him either at the dojo practicing his sword forms, or around town, fighting some of the monsters that have shown up and started wandering around. Even though they'll supposedly be de-nerfed very soon, he wants to make sure he's in top form in case something goes wrong, and he needs to fight like this.

He'll pause when he sees her, though, and nod at her. Hewwo sweet Kate]

Week 7, Saturday

[ after everything settles down, kate's back at the haunted house. ]

... I'm going to miss it here.

[Back to the house!! He looks it over, noting anything that might've changed since he was gone.]
